Day 16- results day and off to 三峽

Semester 2 results were out this morning, and i did terribly as compared to my classmates. Everyone always says this to me:” there is always next time”, but no! When you’re in such a competitive education system, everything counts, right down to the tiny things like conduct. It too plays a role in what you do in the future.

@1PM

At first I was all emo and sitting at one corner, but if felt much better once I has a nap on the bus to the jetty to san xia.

We had different stop over’s for us to relieve ourselves and what not. The first stop had the best, it had a really great vies and it was also super duper mega clean! When we walked over the floor, it gave out a squeaky sound! That’s how clean it is! If only our school hostel toilet was this clean! I wouldn’t mind cleaning it every week to maintain that shine.

(The bus journey continues)

1st commotion

Then came dinner, I usually enjoy the meals that the school brings us to, firstly because it’s always in some high class restaurant and secondly, the food is totally different from what we normally eat at the school’s back street. Being such a slowpoke, I wasn’t able to sit with Yanting and all because someone “stole” my place, so I reluctantly went and sat with the teachers, however it wasn’t as bad as I thought, I did mingle but not too much though. Mingling is important, be it small random talks with strangers or serious talks regarding important matters, they are all important for this thing called OUR FUTURE! It helps us to built up self esteem and courage to talk to people of all walks of life .

2nd commotion

Reached the jetty, to board the san xia cruise, for no apparently ½ of our group was stopped at the gate, we weren’t allowed to forward which lead us standing there like a bunch of idiots! Suddenly, millions of China people rushed in , into the gate that we were standing in front of. They kept pushing and asking us to get out, it really felt like a stampede which lead me even more pissed.

Lesson learnt from the second commotion is TO WALK FASTER AND NOT TAKE MY TIME WITH THINGS!

Keys issued, went up to our rooms and slept.

The living condition is way better than in the hostel! But it’s just a little squeeze!

Day 15 presentation

Day 15 presentation

Had our first presentation, and I believe i could have done way better than what I did, we could have done more preparation, and checked for any mistakes before presenting. Out of all the groups, i felt that Sihao’s group was the best, they even had a mascot and they I could tell that they really put in effort for the presentation.

With the remarks given by Miss Neo, we were given the afternoon off to touch up on the project and after completing it I decided to give the whole room an extreme makeover to give myself a sense of newness and surprise, I’ll never every do such a thing back home as I feel that I’m already very comfortable back in Singapore and there is no need to arrange stuff, however its different here! Even though I can easily adapt to changes, but there is this sense of “not yours”, so I’m just trying to make myself more comfortable.

After arranging we played badminton with the local students and that pretty much end the day.

Reflection:
Presentation didn't go as well as I thought, the only way is to be more careful for the final presentation :D and  i realise that the locals only play badminton when there is SUN!

Day 13 and 14

Day 13-Tiring Tuesday

Yes, we did have lessons; we live a very monotonous life here. Wake up , lesson, lunch, lesson, dinner, sleep and the cycle repeats the next day.

We learnt about cost crashing its basically trying to shorten the duration a projects needs. It can be applied in our daily lives be it big or small matters it can be used. Nothing much happened today.

Reflection

Using cost crashing as a method of cutting cost can really benefit each other. But we have to get things straight; we cannot just decrease this event by 2 days thinking it’s not important but actually every little thing affect the next event.

Day 14 Wednesday-Project discussion!

We spent the whole day afternoon completing our project management, figuring out what events to follow which is purely annoying and hair pulling, but we manage to figure it out together. Following that we went to get snacks from Wal-Mart for our trip to 三峡 , we were told that the toilets are disgusting and also the food there is going to be very expensive, which lead us to stock up!

Back to the hostel to complete even more work for the presentation. What a Boring day.
