Day1 and 2 : Arrival

Miss Wong is here in wuhan too!

the rosiest cheeks I've ever seen.

The flight full was of turbulences but thankfully it was a safe flight.

We had to make a transit at Guangzhou, where I met the most disgusting behaviour of anyone living. While lining up to get our passports chopped, this China lady just had to cut in-between us as if the queue ends there. Even though we told her nicely that the queue starts from way behind us she just stood there and ignored us. We are lucky to be brought up in Singapore where values are instilled in us ever since we were born and I for one will never behave in this manner.

The drama didn’t end there; I found out that they have fruits stalls in the airport! Like those you would see in the market, surprising there were people who actually buy them.

Once we stepped out of the airplane in Wuhan, we stared shivering and complaining about the sudden drop in temperature! We had no problem at Guangzhou as the temperature was similar to Singapore’s temperature, 26 degree Celsius. However a huge change from that at Wuhan! A sudden drop of temperature to 6 degrees Celsius which made walking around with a just a jacket IMPOSSIBLE! Thank god that Singapore doesn’t experience such drastic temperature changes ( but it might be good to be cold for just 1 day )

A Bus ride to the hostel and off for dinner with the China students here at WUST, great bunch of kids which were friendly and helpful. If they ever had the chance of coming to Singapore, I'll will also be a good host to them and bring them around like how they promised to bring us for the following weeks here.

Day2:
With the wind blowing at our faces, all i wanted to do was hide in a cave and stay there till the weather turns warmer. Having the school tour in such cirumstances was really torturing to us as we’re not use to the weather and walking in the rain with strong winds is just UNBERABLE! We are very fortunate to have covered walkways in Ngee Ann and we do not have to walk in the rain like how the locals here do when it rains.
With school tour done, we went to our classroom and got to familiarise the rooms in that building, we met Miss Wong Wai Har, ( class advisor back in Singapore )she too is here in Wuhan but the only difference is that it’s not 6 weeks but 6 months! I really admire her independence, being able to be away from her loved ones for practically half a year it really something not everyone can go through. I might not be feeling home sick yet, but soon just soon I’ll be. Its just a matter of time.
Afternoon’s lesson was cancelled, so we made use of the free time to catch up on some shopping for necessities and so on. The only special thing that happened this evening was celebrating Jean’s 20th birthday! We surprise her with a “cake”. Being away from home on your birthday just sucks!
