Day 28 lesson

With continuation of yesterday’s chapter of leadership, we watched clips of the movie Elizabeth, the movie portrayed Queen Elizabeth I as a very strong women which lead her country to war, even though she was female, she still gained the respect of her people. She was really smart, she made use of talent! Even though the man was in prison, she released him because he has a talent that no one has and that was he was great in the sea, so with his help they were able to win the war! Elizabeth was not only a leader; she was also a mother to the whole country.

Lessons went on after that. Nothing really happened during lesson time.
The peak of this day was that there was this couple fighting just across the road from our hostel, being very “kahpoh” Singaporeans, both yanting and I stood at balcony to watch this “free show”;the guy was really violent, throwing the girl here and there like some rag or some toy that he doesn’t want to play with anymore. All the girl did was scream and shout at him which I think was pointless, she should just go home and sleep!
Reflection:
I realised the man here in China aren’t as gentlemanly as those in Singapore, if they’re unhappy with their girlfriends they will just slap them across their faces or scold them so loudly till the people across the road can hear! Violence isn’t going to solve anything, sitting down and talking things out is way better then hitting someone cause nothing is going to be solved with violence!

Day 27 class in the afternoon!

Lesson was postponed to the afternoon, because one of our classmates had to go to the hospital the day before which lead to some delay for Miss Neo, thus postponing class. From what I heard, the school hospital didn’t accept him because he wasn’t a student here in WUST. In a way he was lucky because he was not in a life and death situation; however I felt that they are being very inflexible and unreasonable they could have just checked his temperature or what not and from there decide if he needs to go the bigger hospitals in the city.
We continued with PM in the afternoon, we learnt about leadership, a project manager has to know how to lead and not just sit there and wait for instruction. They also have to know their strength and weaknesses of their team members and delegate them jobs that are suited for them. The latter is very important because if someone is not suited for that particular task, their superior shouldn’t make them take on that task as it will not only cause trouble and problems, they would also have to.
Followed by lessons we went to Wal-Mart, to buy more snacks to bring back to Singapore! At the rate that we’re buying back we could easily set up a shop to sell!

Day 26 - Free as a bird

Due to the fact that we came back very late the previous night we’re all tired and some were even sick, so class was cancelled!
We took the opportunity to sleep in since we haven’t had the chance to do it since we were here. Since we didn’t have much work to do, we decided to head down to Jiang Han Lu to have Korean barbeque and watch a movie.

We checked out the prices from our local friends and found out that student price is way cheaper than the normal price, so we borrowed their passes. When we got there, we just bought the tickets as if those passes were ours! ( it was pretty obvious that they aren’t ours because all the passes we borrowed, they were guys and all of us were girls! ) And when the movie ended we just walked out of the theatre the same way we got in. Which is not very smart of them, cause if we wanted to make full use of the ticket we have we would have just walked into another theatre and watch another movie

the theatre is similar to Singapore's

Reflection
From this situation I realized that they don’t really bother if you’re cheating them they just want to get their job done and get paid and go home, they are not taking what they do seriously and professionally, if they did they would have a different exit from the entrance to prevent cheapo people to watch more movies than they are suppose to.
After that we went Jiang Han Lu’s backstreet to shop, the most significant thing that happened there was MeiXiu was almost pick pocketed and from what I heard from Jean (the witness) he just stood behind her like as if he was looking at stuff and suddenly his hand reached into her bag, luckily Jean’s reaction was quick and she shouted to stop the act. Then he pretends that nothing happened and walked away normally. We either have to be careful or the people here should just get a decent job and earn their own living!
And after that, I was being shocked by Sihao because out of a sudden, out of nowhere he tugged my bag, and me already very paranoid I screamed very loudly causing everyone to stop what they were doing and stare.

Day 25 武当山

2 routes, we either climb wudang shan or we watch monkeys perform, I decided on climbing the mountain since majority were and I wanted to know how magnificent the view is from the top of the mountain.
Assembling at 7.30am at the hotel lobby, (oh how much I miss you hotel room)

And we headed in the direction of the mountain. At first the route seems simple and it short, but as we walked and walked and walked I realized there was no ending!

This mountain looks like face !

The never ending road!

I was lagging behind after the first so one of the WUST staff kept pushing me, like literally push and that made me very annoyed because everyone has a different stamina and different strength she can’t expect me to move at the same speed as the people way in front of me, however if I were to think in her point of view, she needs us to move faster in order not to push back the other plans that were plan for the day. At one point of the journey up all I wanted to do was sit down and just give up, it was really tiring and due to the fact that I haven’t exercised for god knows how many years. BUT I persevere on because no one gave up and for the fact I was already there, why not just continue at my own pace right?! Both Teeli and I climbed up, step after step, hundred and thousand and millions of steps later WE FINALLY REACHED! The sense of satisfaction was great even though we weren’t the first at least we didn’t give up and that’s what matters. Like whatever we do in your studies, we shouldn’t give up half way we have to complete whatever we have started and not just leave it there to dangle and let others to finish it for you.

At the top, we were given our tickets to get into Wudang Mountains bronze roof temple. This roof is really special, when sunlight shines upon it, it will turn gold and it really looks very cool and the view was even nicer!

the detail on the roof very very detailed -I LIKE!

At this viewing platform, it was as if you were in heaven the clouds seem to be at your reach and you could just touch them. When I was up there the same WUST teacher saw me and ask, “Was it all worth it?” (Because on the way up I was telling her I wanted to give up). Indeed it was, cause the sense of satisfaction was something that I will not get to experience again. Even if I climb Mount Everest, it’s not going to be the same route, not the same difficulty, IT’S JUST NOT THE SAME!

don't we look like the picture at the background?

finally back to civilisation!

The journey back down wasn’t as bad as the journey up, but none the less it is still tiring, because of personal stamina and all, we arrived at different timings but that can’t be blamed right?! We were rushed out of the hotel lobby to get into those little shuttle buses and down the mountain, when we reached the foot, my thigh cramped up and I couldn’t walk at all! I felt pretty useless and crippled, but the people around me stayed back and help me, if it weren’t for them I would have looked like a fool sitting in the middle of the road with my leg stretched out. This shows no one can stand in the world be themselves, they need people in their lives. No matter how strong or good you are, you need people to be around to back you up when you fall and to support you in whatever you do.

We had to rush through lunch ( at this time it was already 4pm :O) and we only got back to the hostel at 9.30PM, washed up and went to bed
